A candidate is encouraged to engage in regular prayer, spiritual direction, participation in the sacramental life of the Church, and periods of reflection in order to understand God’s will.
Discernment is carried out in collaboration with the formation team and competent authorities of the Institute, who assist the candidate in evaluating her suitability for consecrated life and apostolic service.
The discernment process seeks to ascertain the authenticity of the vocation, the candidate’s spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and human maturity, and her willingness to live the evangelical counsels according to the constitutions and mission of the Servite Mission Sisters.
Discernment is not merely a personal decision but a mutual process through which both the candidate and the Institute seek to discover whether God is calling her to consecrated life within the Servite Mission Sisters.
Lord God, in humility I come before You, seeking light and direction.
If You are calling me to the life of a Servite Mission Sister, grant me the grace to recognise Your voice and to respond with faith and sincerity.
Order my thoughts and desires according to Your will. If this path is truly for me, strengthen my resolve and guide my steps. If it is not, lead me gently in the way You have prepared for me.
Into Your hands I entrust this decision. Keep me always in Your truth and in Your peace.
Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother and guide, accompany me in this journey of discernment. Help me to listen, to understand, and to remain faithful to the will of God.
Amen.
